Civil Rights Movement Final Assessment
The Civil Rights Movement is noted to have ended between 1965 and 1968 when the Voting Rights act of 1965 and Fair Housing Act of 1968 were passed. As we conclude this unit, we are going to continue with look through the lens of multiple perspectives.
In order to assess your understanding the multiple perspectives of the Civil Rights Movement, you will take on the role of a key figure from Civil Rights in order to write a letter to the leaders of the Black Lives Matter Movement.

Your Goal: Give BLM your perspective and advice on what you think needs to be done to make their movement a success.

Your Situation: Imagine your key figure is still alive today. While watching the news, he/she saw a few newscasts on the Black Lives Matter Movement, and how it is perceived by other people. The newscast frustrated you because you know what the movement is lacking and what itis doing wrong, and you know what it needs.

- Remember, you are writing this from the perspective of a key figure → think in their shoes!!
- Each person had a different approach in the actions he or she took → how can you transfer what they did then to what BLM can do now?
