The American Dream
Most people know the story of the Beverly Hillbillies. They struck it rich when they found oil on their Texas ranch and end up gaining a huge fortune. With this fortune, they move out to Beverly Hills where hilarious situations ensue. Making it rich quick has always been part of the story of America. It comes with the idea of social stratification: making it to the top of the pyramid (money wise at least). There are two ways that people work to achieve this idea: The American Dream or Get rich quick. There are many stories from both sides: people who pull themselves up by their bootstrap and work hard to get the money or those that win the lottery and make it big over night.
But is it worth the work? Does it pay to work hard to get the money? Is it easier to get rich quick? Is getting the money worth it at all?
